I had the misfortune to need the services of the A&E dept, I was prepared for a long wait, I had injured my back quite badly, eventually was called into the triage room, there was a miserable nurse in dark blue sat at a computer who hardly made eye contact and a male nurse (grey beard) in a white top that spent more time telling me I should have contacted the out of hours GP and what tablets I should have taken, he then proceeded to take my blood pressure (still not sure why) then handed me a plastic cup which contained a paracetamol, ibuprofen and a cocodamol tablet, neither asked if I was allergic to anything! I was then abruptly informed by the miserable nurse I would have to wait 7 hours to see a doctor , I’m 55yrs old and I think this is the second time in my life I have ever been to A&E and had I not been in agony I would not have gone in the first place (although not condoning it in any shape or for) it’s no wonder people become abusive with some staff when their attitude is like this

I had surgery in September by Mr Lue and his team. They were all fantastic, very helpful and supportive. They kept me well informed on what was going on. I was very well looked after and nothing was ever any trouble. All my questions were answered with care and sensitivity. All the domestic/nursing staff were amazing on every shift. (The whole of ward 8). I felt like I was in a hotel and there was only me being cared for. I am still under Mr Lue at the moment with ongoing treatment. I am very grateful for all the care and support given by Dr Hassan Shikhrakab and his team and Mr Lue and team and all the staff who I have had the pleasure to meet in all departments on my scary cancer journey. At the same time my wife had an accident and fractured her femer, she was on ward 6 for a week and again all staff were fantastic. They are all doing a magnificent job. Well done to you all and thank you.

Come into the A&E department at 3pm with constant nausea after eating food and losing weight from not being able to eat, got seen by the triage nurse to be told to wait until the doctor would see me, waited 10 hours in total for the doctor to turn around and say he can do anything for me because it doesn’t count as an accident and emergency issue, have no problem getting told this but why did I have to wait 10 hours to get told this, when the triage nurse could of told me this saving my time and the doctors, too top it all of when I went to find out what was going on with my appointment to be rudely talked down to by two members of the nursing team, the nurses are there to be helpful to you not stick their noses up at you.

I would like to show my appreciation to the Doctors, nurses and auxiliary staff that treated me from entering into resus unit all the way up to Ward 8 where I spent a couple of days. When I get an attack it's really quite scary, but within no time all members of the medical teams had calmed, treated and explained everything to me. Which in turn made me feel better and safe on the knowledge I was in safe hands. After a couple of hours I was moved to Ward 8 and met some more really nice caring understanding professionals. I would just like to say s huge thank you to all involved with my care.I hope the relevant people involved hear of my gratitude. If it helps I was admitted on 25th March Sunday afternoon. Thank you thank you thank you.

I recently (after the inevitable long delays) received an operation date. I made the necessary arrangements with my work . So did my wife to take me to the hospital. After the necessary preparations for operation day I turned up at the allotted time and was told, having received no prior warning, that the operation cancelled due to lack of beds and to go home. Am devastated after waiting so long such that a tiny hernia went from a small egg to bigger than a tennis ball and getting more and more painful.

I cannot speak more highly of the nurses and doctors in ITU. I was admitted via A and E, whilst on holiday in Kinmel Bay, on 12/08/17 with severe sepsis and multi- organ failure, my husband was advised to 'prepare for the worst' as I was so ill Dr Chalmers and Dr Evans did not think I would survive it, however thanks to the amazing care that I received around the clock I am here to tell the tale. I spent 6 days on a ventilator and subsequently developed pneumonia but as I have said the care I received ultimately saved my life. I count my blessings every day and my perspective on life has changed forever. Thank you for saving my life.
